12/05/08 Jefferson Falcons NJSIAA Section 1, Group II Champions ! * * : On December 5, 2008 the Jefferson Falcons High School Football team ended a two year NJSIAA dry spell and proudly brought home a 2008 Sectional Finals Title to Jefferson Township. Kevin Murphy's three touchdowns and five tackles took down defending champions West Essex with a score of 21-6, in the Section 1, Group II game tonight that lead to a Falcon V-I-C-T-O-R-Y !!! Mayor Russell Felter arranged for a Champions Homecoming Victory Parade escort, compliments of a combined effort by the Jefferson Twp Police Department, Jefferson Fire Companies # 1 and 2, the Milton First Aid Squad, Jefferson Rescue Squad and the NJ State Forestry Service. The emergency services escort met the Falcon's buses just before Picatinny Arsenal on Route 15 North and brought them home with lights and sirens blaring the good news all the way back to the Jefferson High School Football Field goal post!
