On Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at approximately 8:30pm, Jefferson Twp Fire Companies 1 & 2 and the Jefferson Rescue Squad responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Route 15 North and Berkshire Valley Rd on the outer edge of the New Orleans Steak House Restaurant parking lot in Jefferson Twp. Additional fire apparatus was brought to the accident scene to assist Jefferson Twp Police with traffic control at Route 15 North and Berkshire Valley Road to ensure a safe working environment for rescuers and the drivers of the vehicles. Firefighters used the "Jaws of Life" extrication tools to safely cut open the doors of the wrecked vehicle, so that rescuers could reach the entrapped driver, who was transported to an area hospital by Jefferson Rescue Squad. There were no life threatening injuries reported.
